While looking at sample sites using Quartz, I found out about Socratica.
It seems more like a movement than a group of people, devoted to fostering creativity through group activities and support. They have a code of conduct which appears to be quite reasonable.
Application to Discipleship
As a Christian, I wouldn’t mind seeing this kind of mindset be adopted and adapted for discipleship ministry. How do we foster meaningful discipleship, along with an open atmosphere to learn about loving God and loving each other? What does a Jesus-centered discipleship look like when we encourage small groups of people to gather, instead of embracing the more modern, megachurch-like goal-oriented mindset?
Perhaps the idea of culture-oriented ministry is something that goes by the wayside. After all, there are many cultures under the Christianity umbrella and they do not always get along with each other. See more reflection on this in Christianity through a Cultural Lens.
